“For God wanted them to know that the riches and glory of Christ are for you Gentiles, too. And this is the secret: Christ lives in you. This gives you assurance of sharing his glory.”
Colossians 1:27 NLT

Jesus Christ did not come into this world to establish Himself as a prominent earthly leader or to bring a political transformation. He came to save and redeem mankind and give us the hope of eternal glory through Him.

Believing and trusting in Jesus Christ is not just a temporary relief from our problems but an assurance of sharing His glory forever.

Watchman Nee (1903–1972) was a Christian evangelist from China who dedicated his life to preaching Jesus Christ. He accepted Jesus as his Savior at the age of 17 and began sharing the gospel. He was instrumental in establishing hundreds of churches across China and taught believers to live by the power of Christ within them.

Despite sickness, suffering, and persecution, he continued to preach and strengthen believers. In 1952, he was arrested and imprisoned, where he remained for the next 20 years until his death in 1972.

Though Watchman Nee lost his freedom, he never lost his hope in Christ. His hope was not in being released from prison or living a comfortable life but in the eternal glory promised through Jesus Christ.

Many times, we look to Jesus for healing, deliverance, and answers to our prayers. But are we limiting our hope in Christ only to this earthly life?

Romans 8:18 reminds us that our present sufferings cannot be compared to the glory that will be revealed in us.

Our circumstances may not change, but our hope remains because Christ lives in us today, giving us the assurance of what is awaiting us in eternity.

Let us not measure God’s faithfulness only by the blessings we receive or the problems He solves. The greatest gift He has given us is Jesus Christ Himself.

Christ in us is the hope of glory, not just for today or tomorrow, but for all eternity!

Prayer:

Lord Jesus, thank You for being our eternal hope. Help us to look beyond our earthly circumstances and remain faithful to You, knowing that the glory awaiting us is far greater than our present suffering. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
