“as it is written, ‘The righteous shall live by faith.’”
Romans 1:17 (ESV)

Faith is believing in the one true God and placing your complete trust in Him, relying on His character, His promises, and His Word. According to the Jewish understanding, faith is to believe in the singular, omnipresent, omnipotent God who is the source and cause of all existence.

Faith is not a static word but an ongoing pursuit that must be cultivated and strengthened. It involves active trust, steadfast loyalty, wholehearted dependence, and a daily reliance upon God. Because faith is living and active, God continually teaches His people to grow in it.

Throughout Scripture, God continually reveals His faithfulness so that, as you hear His Word, your faith may grow. The Word of God nurtures your confidence in His unchanging character. Having faith in the faithfulness of God is the lifeline of every believer.

Faith makes you righteous. Faith keeps your spirit alive. Faith moves mountains. Faith builds your future. Faith gives life to the purposes of God.

Faith cannot be divided among different sources; it must rest upon the one supreme Source. Placing your confidence in many things is often an attempt to play it safe, hoping that if one fails, another will succeed. Such divided trust reflects a lack of confidence in the sufficiency of God’s power. Our God is not one among many; He alone is God, and He alone is worthy of your complete trust.

The Bible reveals that Jesus Christ is the Author and Perfecter of your faith. He is the One who can be trusted at all times and in every circumstance. When everything around you seems to fail, and even your own strength begins to fade, faith in Christ raises you up and gives you the strength to continue.

Abel offered a better sacrifice by faith. Moses endured by faith. Abraham obeyed and received God’s promises by faith. Rahab was saved by faith. Throughout Scripture, every man and woman who walked with God endured, survived, and prevailed through faith.

Therefore, the righteous shall live by faith—not occasionally, not only in times of need, but every day, trusting the One who has never failed.

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, thank You for being faithful in every generation. Strengthen my faith to trust You completely, even when I cannot see the way ahead. Teach me to depend on You alone and not on the temporary security of this world. Help me to live by faith each day until every promise You have spoken over my life is fulfilled. In Jesus’ mighty name, Amen.
