“…No longer do I call you servants, for the servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all that I have heard from my Father I have made known to you.”
John 15:15 (ESV)

Jesus calls us His friends. This truth is so fascinating, especially to those from different belief backgrounds where people are often kept in bondage through fear or slavery in the name of God.

The thought that God would consider someone worthy to be called His friend is almost too wonderful to believe, yet it is true. In the eyes of God, every one of us is valuable, deeply loved, and equally precious.

In reality, we often share secrets with our friends that we may hesitate to share even with our own family. Friends hold a very special place in our hearts. That is how Jesus considers us. He is willing to make known to us everything He has heard from the Father. He desires to reveal His heart, His will, and His plans concerning our lives.

Jesus is not a harsh taskmaster who simply gives commands. He is a faithful Friend who walks with us, guides us, comforts us, and even invites us to share in the heavenly places with Him. What an incredible privilege it is to have the King of kings call us His friend.

Make Jesus your closest Friend. Spend time with Him, listen to His voice through His Word, and walk with Him in prayer. As your friendship with Him grows, He will keep you informed about the Kingdom of God, reveal His purposes for your life, and guide you according to His perfect will.

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, thank You for the incredible privilege of calling us Your friends through Jesus Christ. Reveal Your heart and Your purposes for our lives, and guide us according to Your perfect will. May we remain faithful friends of Jesus until the very end. In Jesus’ mighty name, Amen.
