“And when this had taken place, the rest of the people on the island who had diseases also came and were cured. They also honored us greatly, and when we were about to sail, they put on board whatever we needed.”

Paul was taken as a prisoner to Rome and faced a fierce shipwreck in the Mediterranean Sea. When all hope seemed lost, Paul encouraged the passengers by sharing a vision from an angel, assuring them that although the ship would be destroyed, not a single life would be lost.

When they finally sighted land, the ship struck a sandbar, and the pounding surf broke the stern to pieces.

Everyone on board safely reached the shores of Malta, where the local people showed them extraordinary kindness. During their time there, Paul survived a venomous snake bite and performed many miraculous healings.

God allowed Paul to go through the storm, the broken ship, and life-threatening situations to reach a shore where he would become a witness for God. Paul boarded the ship as a prisoner, but God turned him into a preacher of the Gospel.

Paul ministered on the island of Malta for three months. When the season became favorable to sail again, he continued his journey, ministering everywhere God led him.

Be encouraged that when God allows something to be broken in your life, He already has an exit plan. In the breaking, you may still sail through threatening situations, but you will also reach a shore of testimony where you become a witness of God’s faithfulness.

You may begin your journey feeling like a hopeless prisoner, but in the breaking, God reveals your calling. In the breaking, God displays His power. In the breaking, He raises you as a witness so that others may come to know Him.

God does not leave you in the place of brokenness. Your new ship is coming. He will carry you into the next season with greater value, a stronger testimony, and a life that brings change to your family, your community, and the places He sends you.

Allow God to shape you through every season of breaking, and wait with expectation to board the new ship He has prepared. The same God who brought Paul safely to shore will faithfully bring you to the place He has ordained for you.

Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You that You never waste the storms or the seasons of breaking in my life. Even when I do not understand Your ways, help me to trust that You are working all things together for my good and for Your glory. I surrender every broken place into Your hands, believing that You are preparing a new season filled with purpose and Your divine favor. In Jesus’ mighty name, Amen.
