“Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivers him out of them all.”
Psalm 34:19 (ESV)

The Word of God does not promise an affliction-free life, but in the midst of every affliction, it promises deliverance. Jesus Himself said, “In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.” If Christ has overcome the world, then those who belong to Him will also overcome through Him.

Afflictions describe physical, emotional, and circumstantial suffering. They may come as pain, distress, disappointment, persecution, or grief. They are unavoidable as long as we live in this fallen world with flesh and blood. Yet, even in situations that seem helpless and hopeless, God’s promise remains unchanged: He delivers the righteous.

Notice the confidence of this Scripture. It does not say the Lord delivers from some afflictions, but from them all. Not one, not two, but every single one. There is nothing you face today that is impossible to overcome through Jesus Christ.

When Jesus Christ becomes your portion, He becomes your strength, your refuge, and your strong tower. He covers every area of your life, leaving nothing unattended or unaddressed. His grace is sufficient, His power is perfect, and His deliverance is certain.

Take heart. Stay close to Jesus. Do not allow affliction to define your future. The God who walks with you through every trial is the same God who will bring you safely out of them all.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, thank You that You never promised a life without trials, but You have promised Your presence and Your deliverance. We declare that every affliction is temporary, but Your faithfulness is everlasting. Lead us into victory and let our lives glorify You through every season. In Jesus’ mighty name, Amen.
