“The Lord of Heaven’s Armies has sworn this oath: It will all happen as I have planned. It will be as I have decided.”
— Isaiah 14:24 (NLT)

The plan of God prevails. The intellect of humans, the forces of nature, or the schemes of the devil may try to resist what God has prepared for your life, but they are powerless to stand against the plan of God.

As a child of God, when your life is surrendered and submitted to His will, you will experience that the God of heaven is for you and not against you.

The life of Joseph is a powerful reminder that God’s plan has the final say. Joseph had a dream of being exalted and honored among his family members. In his innocence, he revealed the dream to his brothers, which got him into trouble and almost cost him his life.

We could debate whether Joseph should or should not have shared what God had shown him so soon, but his story ended with a powerful truth: it was God who revealed the plan, and it was God who fulfilled it.

Joseph’s brothers came up with a plan—a great idea, as they thought—to destroy God’s purpose by killing Joseph. They said, “Then we’ll see what becomes of his dreams!” (Genesis 37:20). The foolishness of man was attempting to compete with the sovereign wisdom of God. Those ignorant brothers had no idea that God had already established His plan for Joseph generations in advance.

They did everything they could to disrupt the plan of God. Yet from the pit to slavery, from slavery to prison, and from prison to the palace, Joseph was led by the favor of God.

According to the plan of God, the will of God, and the desire of God, Joseph was raised from rags to riches and from pain to power. The same brothers who mocked his dreams eventually bowed before him and sought his help. It was not merely Joseph’s dream that they tried to destroy; it was the will of God that they were fighting against. Joseph became blessed, favored, and fruitful, leaving a lasting mark on the history of Egypt.

It is such an inspiring reminder that no one can stand against the plan of God for your life. Like Joseph, you may have experienced distractions, deviations, betrayals, and disappointments that seem to have destroyed your dreams. But remember, before it was Joseph’s dream, it was the Father’s desire to bless and exalt him.

In your pit, in your slavery, in your prison, and in your famine, remember that it is the will of the Father to bless you and exalt you. Even when every odd is against you, there is no power on earth or in hell that can resist the plan of God for your life.

Allow God to align your dreams, your desires, and your passions with His plan and His will. As He did with Joseph, He will make you fruitful, fruitful even in the land of your affliction.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, thank You that Your plans can never be defeated. Help me to trust You even when I do not understand the path You are leading me through. Align my dreams, desires, and passions with Your will, and make me fruitful for Your glory. Strengthen my faith to believe that no force of man, nature, or the enemy can stop what You have ordained for my life. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
