“If you are faithful in little things, you will be faithful in large ones. But if you are dishonest in little things, you won’t be honest with greater responsibilities.”
— Luke 16:10 NLT

Everything in life is tested from our childhood onward. Our knowledge is tested, our character is tested, our faith is tested, our patience is tested, and our endurance is tested. God often uses the small and seemingly insignificant things to reveal what is within us.

The Word of God teaches that if a person is faithful in little things, he or she will also be faithful in greater things. Likewise, dishonesty in small matters is often a sign that greater responsibilities cannot be trusted to that person.

Samuel was a man known for his integrity and honesty. The people of Israel themselves testified to his character. Scripture records that no man or woman could bring a valid accusation against him from his youth to his old age. God trusted Samuel as a judge and as a prophet over His people. Unlike other prophets who fell because of unfaithfulness or compromise, Samuel remained pleasing in the sight of God and lived a life marked by integrity.

There is a reward for integrity, and it stands as a distinguishing mark of the children of God. Every little thing that God entrusts into our hands is examined according to His standard of faithfulness. He validates, verifies, and approves our stewardship. When we pass the test in small things, God entrusts us with greater responsibilities and a greater purpose in His Kingdom.

Our lifestyle, actions, values, and standards speak loudly about our faithfulness and honesty. They cannot be hidden for long. Therefore, let us be diligent and live with the awareness that God sees every thought, word, and deed. May our lives reflect the character of Christ in both the public and private areas of life.

When we walk in faithfulness and honesty, our reward is not only greater responsibility but also the trust and favor of God.

Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for teaching us the value of faithfulness and integrity. May our words, actions, and decisions reflect Your character. Strengthen us to walk uprightly before You, and entrust us with greater responsibilities according to Your perfect will. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
