“He determines the number of the stars; he gives to all of them their names. Great is our Lord, and abundant in power; his understanding is beyond measure.”
Psalm 147:4-5 ESV
In a household with many children, a father may sometimes forget the details of his children. He may mix up their names, grades, birthdays, desires, or even the order of their birth. That is the limited capacity of an earthly father. But this passage reveals the might, power, and sovereignty of the Lord.
Researchers are still trying to determine the number of stars that exist in the galaxies, yet the Creator of the universe already knows them all. He determines where every star should be placed, and more importantly, He calls each one by name.
This reveals the greatness of our Heavenly Father. His understanding of His creation is beyond human comprehension. The God who created the galaxies also knows who you are, where you come from, and the destiny prepared for your life. He knows every detail of your existence and every step of the journey ahead of you.
At times we may feel unnoticed by family, friends, or the people around us, but be encouraged — the Lord knows you by name. He has numbered the hairs on your head, and you are kept as the apple of His eye. You are not forgotten. You are not unseen. You are deeply known by God.
This truth gives confidence and assurance that our Heavenly Father will never abandon us. His love is everlasting. He loved us so deeply that He sacrificed His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, to secure our place forever in the Kingdom of God.
So in boldness, bring all your burdens, petitions, and worries before the Father who knows it all. In His hands are the answers. In His fellowship is the solution, and in His presence is peace.
You are handpicked and known by name. Go to the Father for anything and everything, because He knows every detail about you and cares for you completely.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for knowing me by name and loving me with an everlasting love. When I feel unseen or forgotten, remind me that I am held securely in Your hands. Teach me to bring every burden, worry, and desire before You, knowing that in Your presence there is peace. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
