“If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him.”
James 1:5 ESV

Solomon was considered the wisest man who ever lived, yet the Bible does not record that he was wise from his young age.
Wisdom is not inherited. Wisdom is not bestowed partially upon only a few. Wisdom cannot be bought with a ransom; rather, wisdom is a gift from God. This gift is available to everyone who asks.
Solomon offered a massive sacrificial ceremony with songs and prayers, seeking God wholeheartedly. The Father accepted Solomon’s sacrifice, appeared to him in a dream, and asked what he desired. Solomon asked for the wisdom of God. The Father was pleased with his request and showered him with blessings he did not even ask for.
Wisdom does not come alone. It brings goodness, discernment, understanding, and keeps us away from wickedness.
The Bible encourages us to ask for wisdom, and it is the will of God for all of us to walk in it. When wisdom is asked for, it is not given in small portions, but in abundance. Wisdom keeps you away from harm, foolishness, ungodly relationships, bad decisions, and wrong directions. Wisdom leads you in peace and prosperity through every circumstance of life.
As long as Solomon reigned, there was never a lack in his kingdom, and peace was his portion throughout the years. Not only did Solomon experience the blessing of wisdom, but the people who lived under his authority also benefited from it. Wisdom is contagious when desired, and its blessings are enjoyed by everyone who embraces it.
Wisdom is so divine, yet it is given freely to everyone who asks. Why wait for something that God freely gives for a successful and fulfilled life?
Embrace wisdom. Embrace life in its fullness.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for giving wisdom generously to all who ask. Fill our hearts with understanding, discernment, and guidance so we may walk in Your will. Keep us away from foolishness and lead us in peace, righteousness, and truth. Teach us to seek You above all things and to live according to Your wisdom every day. In Jesus’ name, amen.
