“And though your beginning was small, your latter days will be very great.”
Book of Job 8:7 ESV

God does not call the equipped, but He equips the called.
During the process of God equipping us, we may face hardships, shame, insults, rejection, abandonment, betrayal, and painful seasons. Yet through every trial, God is preparing and shaping us for His purpose.
The eyes that only see our present humble state cannot see the greatness God is preparing us for. The small initiative you take in your ministry, your business, or your lifestyle will undoubtedly go through the fire of criticism to discourage you and make you give up.
You may begin to think that maybe you are not the right person, or that the dream is too big for someone considered low in status socially or physically. But remember, the desire and dream God has given were placed in you, not in the people who criticize you.
As much as outsiders may have the freedom to discourage you, God has also given you gifts, talents, wisdom, and grace to fulfill what He has placed in your heart.
Our God is a God of growth. He takes what seems small in the eyes of people and multiplies it for His glory. Anything that stops your progress or hinders the plan and will of God should be ignored.
When Peter healed the lame man at the temple gate called Beautiful, the religious leaders did not first recognize him as a man of God, but as a fisherman.
When Jesus healed, delivered people, and displayed divine wisdom, the Sadducees still identified Him as the carpenter’s son instead of the Messiah.
Yet Peter continued to do what he was called to do. He was no longer only fishing for fish, but fishing for souls for the Kingdom of God. Never in Scripture do we see Peter wasting time correcting the misunderstanding of the Pharisees. Neither did Jesus Christ waste His time trying to prove Himself to spiritually blind people.
A day came when Jesus Christ died, rose from the dead, and ascended into heaven. He fulfilled every prophecy that was spoken and recorded about Him — that He is the King of kings, the Lord of lords, and the Savior of the whole world.
In the same way, people may misunderstand your calling, overlook your value, or judge you based on your current condition. But God sees beyond where you are now. The Bible encourages us to fix our eyes upon Jesus Christ, the author and finisher of our faith. He shows us the path of life. Even if what you are starting seems small, start anyway, because your latter days will be greater.
Do not let people’s opinions, comments, or criticism discourage you. Your greater days are ahead of you.
The Kingdom of God does not see anything about you as small.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for calling us according to Your purpose. Help Teach us to keep our eyes fixed on Jesus Christ and trust the greatness You are preparing for our future. Let every gift and calling You placed inside us bring glory to Your name. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
