“This is the message from the one who is holy and true, the one who has the key of David. What he opens, no one can close; and what he closes, no one can open.”

Revelation 3:7 NLT

God found Noah righteous amidst the ruthless sin the people were indulging in.

He had a plan to preserve the righteous, and He instructed Noah to build an ark large enough for his family and animals of every kind. Noah brought in everyone who belonged to him and animals of every kind through the one door into safety inside the ark. When they all came inside safe and secure, the Bible says that God Himself closed the door behind them.

“A male and female of each kind entered, just as God had commanded Noah. Then the Lord closed the door behind them.”

Genesis 7:16 NLT

God opened the door of the ark to provide everything Noah’s family needed in the midst of the flood and the dangers outside. He shut the door behind them to prevent the floodwaters from entering the ark.

While the door remained open, every creature appointed by God obeyed and entered through it. After the door was shut by God, neither the rain, nor the flood, nor the creatures of the sea, nor the dangers of the darkness could touch Noah and his household.

God determines the circumstances of both open and shut doors. In every situation, God is in control, and He works all things for our good.

Jesus Christ, from the line of David, who is enthroned forever, holds the ultimate authority and dominion over everything. He alone holds the key to every open and shut door.

As you believe in the Son of God and in His authority, no man can shut what God has intended to open in your life. A blessing, favor, breakthrough, or divine opportunity that God has ordained for you cannot be stopped, shut, or closed by any man or demon.

Perhaps what the Lord has shut, no one can force open, because God also closes doors to protect us, guard us, and preserve us from harm.

This promise is not only for the rich and able, but also for the poor and unable, for the meek, the overlooked, the ignorant, the minority, and the least among us. Jesus holds the key to your future. Whoever comes before you and whatever tries to come against you must first pass through King Jesus before it can ever reach you.

Prayer:

Lord Jesus, You are holy and true, and You alone hold the key of David. Thank You for every door You open and every door You shut for my protection. Guard my heart, preserve my family, and lead me into every purpose You have prepared for me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
