“No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.”
Romans 8:37 ESV
God created everything even before He created Adam. He gave Adam authority over everything, but when disobedience led him into sin, he was cursed to toil the land for food. In a literal sense, he became a field laborer instead of a manager over God’s creation.
From that day of deception, the enemy has tried, and is still trying, to hide our true identity. Thank God for Jesus Christ, who came to break the curse and to unveil the authority that was given to us.
Yet the enemy uses every possible way to reach us, to keep our authority undercover, and to hide who we are and what we are capable of conquering.
Through sin, the devil tries to keep us defeated. Through condemnation, he tries to keep us captive. Through fear, he tries to keep us bound. But the Bible says that we are more than conquerors through the One who loves us, and we have been given authority to keep the enemy and the works of darkness under our feet.
No scheme of the enemy and no power of evil spirits has any final say over our lives, nor can they have authority over us because of Jesus Christ.
Adam’s curse was broken by the blood of Jesus Christ, and so was ours. We are more than conquerors through the One who loved us.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for sending Jesus Christ to break every curse and restore our identity in You. Strengthen our faith to stand firm against every scheme of the enemy and to live boldly in the victory You have already won for us. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
