“Watch out that you do not lose what we have worked so hard to achieve. Be diligent so that you receive your full reward.”
2 John 1:8 NLT

Our heart rejoices when our labor—our hard work—is connected to a reward. There is a deep joy in knowing that what we have poured out is seen, valued, and will be rewarded in due time.
We do not operate on our own. We are accountable. In the workplace, we are accountable to our boss. At home, we are accountable within our family. Above all, we are accountable to God in heaven, and He is the One who truly rewards us for our good works.
We may feel discouraged when we do not receive the reward we expect, or when it seems like someone else has taken what we deserve. But our reward is not in the hands of man—it is in the hands of God. He sees all things and rewards faithfully.
The Bible warns us to be diligent so that we do not lose our reward by falling into deception. In the early days, when people came to know Jesus and His finished work on the cross, they faced severe persecution. Many lost their homes, were rejected by their own people, and even gave their lives. Yet, in the midst of suffering, the knowledge of Christ continued to grow, and lives were transformed. Their labor was not unseen—God honored their faithfulness.
The enemy, however, seeks to bring lies to corrupt the mind and heart, pulling us away from the truth. But truth remains forever. It does not need to defend itself. Even if it is buried, it will rise and be revealed in its time.
So the Word calls us to be watchful and diligent—to guard our hearts in truth and not miss the reward that God has prepared. When God places something in your heart and you have labored for it day and night, that reward belongs to you. No one can take it from you. Yet distractions and deceptions can try to pull you away before you receive it.
Be watchful of the people around you, the places you step into, the work you engage in, and the things you allow your eyes to see. Be mindful of your associations and your commitments. If anything or anyone does not align with the will of God and His plan for your life, do not allow it to lead you away. Let your priority be to press forward and receive what God has prepared for you.
Do not lose what belongs to you. God sees your labor. He remembers your faithfulness. In His perfect time, He will reward you fully.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for seeing every labor, every sacrifice, and every act of faithfulness.. Guard my heart, my mind, and my path, so that I do not lose the reward You have prepared for me. Strengthen me to endure and to stay aligned with Your will until I receive the fullness of Your promise. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
