Obedience Is Better Than Sacrifice

“But Samuel replied, “What is more pleasing to the Lord: your burnt offerings and sacrifices or your obedience to his voice? Listen! Obedience is better than sacrifice, and submission is better than offering the fat of rams.” 1 Samuel 15:22 NLT

If you are a parent we could have heard this word ‘obedience’ many times to our children. We get frustrated and show anger when the child do not obey. Disobedient young children is one thing to worry about out but the disobedience in the older kids which would cost their life is a serious thing .

God also can get angry when we do not obey, He is pleased with obedience than sacrifices in other words God acknowledges when we obey his commandments than act of all our religious activities .

This passage talks about King Saul who disobeyed Gods commandments which angered God. The instructions given to Saul was to destroy everything in the land of Amelek. Saul instead of destroying from the sin land he took the best of the animals and captured the king of Amelek . He sacrificed those animals to God , his intentions were to please God by sacrificing the best animals whereas God wanted to destroy the land and everything within .

This cost the kingship of Saul, The Bible says that God regretted to put Saul as king of Israel.

This is a reminder that we be careful in obeying Gods instructions. We may be ready to spend half of our wealth in church or other religious activities. When there is a lack of obedience everything is nullified .

In all the activities that we do for God the Bible encourages to examine ourselves to see if we obey God in our lifestyle , our activities , our personal life . When you take precedence over other activity to please God where God instructed to otherwise , we miss out on what God had called you to be.

God instructed Abram to move , he obeyed for a great blessing.

Jesus met Saul and instructed him to preach gospel to the same people he persecuted, he did .

Jesus is an excellent example for explicit obedience .

May your ideas, intelligence , passion , vision all be aligned to obey God . Anything of this that deviate from God is like walking in dark without a light .

Delayed obedience is also disobedience.

I encourage you today , to acknowledge that call of God, instructions from God and act accordingly.

Prayer

Lord, give us hearts that listen and spirits that obey. Help us not to replace obedience with sacrifice or intention with action. Align our thoughts, desires, and decisions with Your will. Teach us to obey fully, promptly, and joyfully, so that our lives may truly please You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

God Will Pour Out His Spirit Upon Us

“And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh;your sons and your daughters shall prophesy,your old men shall dream dreams,and your young men shall see visions.Even on the male and female servants in those days I will pour out My Spirit.”Joel 2:28–29 ESV

This passage was revealed through the prophet Joel during a time of judgment and restoration for the people and the land of Israel. In those days, God spoke to His people predominantly through prophets. There was great reverence and holy fear toward the prophets, for they were considered the voice of God. Conviction, revelation, promises, and prophecies were delivered to the congregation as the Spirit of God came upon them.

The Word of God reveals the good news that God will pour out His Spirit on every single person who has flesh. This Scripture shows no partiality. Even young children are included in this divine encounter with the Spirit of God. It clearly declares that when the Spirit of God comes upon all flesh, everyone is given the opportunity to hear God, communicate with God, and commune with God.

Even in modern times, we see people traveling long distances to seek a trusted prophet to reveal God’s plan or to speak prophecy over their lives. I do not comment on that practice, but I am here to tell you this truth: the Spirit of God will meet you exactly where you are and is fully willing to reveal His plans for your life. You do not necessarily need a mouthpiece. If God desires to speak to you through a prophet, His Spirit will find a way to reach your ears through His word.

It is deeply encouraging to see that young and old, sons and daughters, male and female servants are all given the opportunity to receive God’s message and pass it on. As recorded in Acts 2, we see this prophecy fulfilled, and from that day onward, the Holy Spirit has never stopped moving powerfully among people.

All are eligible, and all are qualified for this prophecy to be fulfilled. When you repent of your sins, accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, and desire to be filled with the Holy Spirit, Jesus Christ—the Baptizer in the Holy Spirit—will fill you, come upon you, and flow through you. He comes over us like a glove, where He moves and acts, and we flow with the Spirit. He needs flesh to work through, and He needs you.

“In those days I will pour out My Spirit.” Which days? These days. This generation. This very moment in time. God is ready to pour out His Spirit. Do not be discouraged by what you see or hear around you. The Word of God promises that He will satisfy all who are hungry.

After Jesus resurrected and ascended into heaven, He promised that He would send the Holy Spirit—the Comforter and Helper—to be with us and within us all.

Be hungry for Jesus, and be filled with the Holy Spirit.

Commit your ways to God and He will act

“Commit your way to the Lord; trust in Him, and He will act.”

Psalm 37:5 ESV

David is a perfect example of what this passage truly means. He faced more battles and wars than almost anyone else in the Bible. Yet, he was never seen consistently handling matters on his own. Whenever he did take things into his own hands, it led to failure—most notably, sin that resulted in adultery and murder. But when David repented and recommitted his ways to the Lord, God restored him and established him once again.

God did not choose David as king and then allow him to fight every battle the same way he fought Goliath. In 2 Samuel 5:23, we see an incident where the Philistines came up against Israel. David inquired of the Lord to see if he should go and attack, and God answered yes. David obeyed, and the Philistines were defeated. When the enemy came against him again, David once more sought the Lord. This time, God said no and gave him a completely different strategy for victory.

Every time David sought the Lord before moving forward, God took ownership of David’s ways because David remained committed to Him. David himself sang these words:

“For I have kept the ways of the Lord and have not wickedly departed from my God. For all His rules were before me, and from His statutes I did not turn aside.”

2 Samuel 22:23 ESV

Our lives were never meant to be handled alone or carried by our own strength. We have help, and God is a very present help in times of need. Yet we often see people stuck in the same patterns of life—same ways, same people, same job—afraid to try anything new because of the fear of failure. Many of us lack confidence when God calls us to take a step of faith. God cannot use people who are full of themselves, but He delights in using those who depend on Him. God wants to use each and every one of us, in one way or another, to be a blessing to others.

God does not give us a detailed blueprint of life in advance—marking mountains, valleys, wilderness, battles, and people so we can avoid them. Instead, He asks us to trust Him at every step. To inquire of Him, to seek Him, and to commit our ways to Him, so that our paths may be established.

Committing your ways to God reveals humility. It shows confidence that God will answer. It acknowledges that God’s way is the best way—always.

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, we commit our ways into Your hands today. Teach us to trust You in every step, to seek You before we move, and to rely on Your wisdom instead of our own understanding. Establish our paths, guide our decisions, and let Your will be done in our lives. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

The Lord Will Give You Sound Mind

“And Elijah came near to all the people and said, ‘How long will you go limping between two different opinions? If the Lord is God, follow Him; but if Baal, then follow him.’ And the people did not answer him a word.”

1 Kings 18:21 (ESV)

Being indecisive is the inability to make firm decisions in matters that require clarity and commitment. The Bible speaks clearly about the consequences of indecision and the blessings we miss when we fail to make the right choices.

James 1:8 tells us that a double-minded person is unstable in all his ways. Jesus teaches in Matthew 6:24 that no one can serve two masters; devotion to one makes loyalty to the other impossible. The book of Revelation warns that the Lord will spit out those who are lukewarm—neither hot nor cold.

Sitting on the fence between sin and holiness, good and evil, right and wrong reveals a lack of true commitment. Indecision exposes a divided heart.

Solomon loved the Lord, yet he also built altars and offered sacrifices to foreign gods. This compromise led him to practice their ways, and God held future generations accountable for Solomon’s disobedience.

In this passage, the prophet Elijah confronts the people of Israel and challenges them to stop limping between the God of Israel and Baal. They were attempting to merge the practices of Baal with the worship God had instructed. They tried to please both people and God. They wavered between the fear of man—King Ahab and Jezebel—and the fear of the Lord.

Our Almighty God is pleased with unwavering commitment and is angered by divided loyalties. The Word of God makes it clear that there are not multiple paths to God, but only one. When God gives instructions, He does not give multiple directions—He gives one clear path.

Many times, our struggle to make right decisions comes from fear, anxiety, lack of confidence, or the fear of losing people, position, or place. At times, emotional wounds and inner struggles can also affect our ability to choose wisely. Yet, regardless of any struggle or diagnosis, the Bible reminds us that God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind. This sound mind enables us to discern, choose, and act.

Fear the Lord alone. Trust God with all your heart and do not lean on your own understanding. Be sensitive to the voice of the Holy Spirit—He will guide you on the right path. As you rely on the living Word of God, there will be no confusion, no doubt, and your choices will be firm and unwavering. The Lord Himself will give you the boldness to stand by the decisions you make.

According to the Word, let your “yes” be yes and your “no” be no. Break free from the “maybe” syndrome.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, forgive us for every moment of compromise and indecision.. Fill us with Your Spirit of power, love, and a sound mind, that we may choose rightly and walk boldly in Your will. Help us to fear You above all else and to stand firm in our faith. In Jesus’ mighty name, Amen.

You Will Rise And Stand Upright

“Some trust in chariots and some in horses,but we trust in the name of the Lord our God.They collapse and fall, but we rise and stand upright.”

Psalm 20:7–8 ESV

This passage sounds like a declaration spoken before a battle. Chariots and horses were symbols of wealth, strength, and military power. The mighty used them to intimidate and threaten the powerless.

Even in today’s world, nations display their military strength and nuclear power to establish themselves as supreme. They constantly strive to maintain that image, because without it they appear weak before other powerful nations. While nations and leaders feel secure in their power and wealth, the Bible tells us to trust differently—to place our trust in the name of the Lord.

When the people of Israel were freed from Egypt, Pharaoh, filled with anger, sent his mighty chariots and horses to chase them down and destroy them. But the God of Abraham had a different plan for those who trusted Him.

The Israelites were on foot as they came out of Egypt, while the Egyptians rode on powerful horses and chariots. The Israelites walked barefoot through the middle of the Red Sea, with the waters standing like walls on either side. In that very same sea, the horses and chariots of Egypt were drowned.

The Israelites were slaves for many years, while the Egyptians were trained soldiers. The Israelites moved at a slower pace, while the chariots and horses were swift. The Israelites carried musical instruments to praise God, while the Egyptians carried weapons of war. Yet in the end, the enemies fell and drowned, while the people of God rose and stood upright.

The Word of God brings us hope that, The very things that appear powerful before your eyes—God will help you walk through them and give you victory. Your enemies may intimidate you with wealth and influence. Your boss may bind you with authority. Satan may threaten you with his roar. The complexity of health issues may try to wear you down. You may feel that everything you once relied on, everything that gave you confidence, is falling apart.

But the Word of God calls you to trust in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. You will witness with your own eyes the fall of everything that once brought you fear. Nothing shall harm you. You will live, rise, and stand upright to see the hand of God at work in your life.

Wealth is good. Power is good. But what we trust in matters most. You are the richest and most powerful person when God is on your side.

The Bible reminds us: If God is for us, who can be against us?

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, help us to trust in Your name above every power we see around us. Teach us to rely on You alone in every battle we face. Strengthen our faith, lift us up, and help us stand upright as we witness Your victory in our lives. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

You will forget the shame of your youth

Fear not, for you will not be ashamed;be not confounded, for you will not be disgraced;for you will forget the shame of your youth,and the reproach of your widowhood you will remember no more.” Isaiah 54:4 ESV

Shame is the act of humiliating or embarrassing someone for immoral or dishonorable actions. None of us want to go through the pain of being shamed or exposed for our wrong behavior. Many of us carry things we try to hide from others, and if God were to expose everything, we would not be living the lives we live today. God never shames people; instead, He corrects them with love.

It is the enemy who seeks to put us to shame—making us feel guilty, condemned, and unworthy. He uses people and circumstances to threaten us and keep us bound in fear. He constantly reminds us of our past mistakes, wrong decisions, and failures.

But the Word of God brings great encouragement: you will no longer remember the shame of your youth. God Himself will cause you to forget the things of the past. He is the only one who can clear your history and give you a glorious future.

The Bible tells us about a woman named Rahab, a Canaanite woman who was a prostitute. She lived in a house built into the wall of Jericho—not even a proper place to live. When the spies of Israel came to Canaan to spy out the land, the authorities searched for them to kill them. As the spies looked for refuge, Rahab’s house became their hiding place.

She helped them escape danger through her window, and because of that one act, God spared her entire family from destruction when the Israelites conquered the land. Rahab was not only preserved from death, but she later married one of the spies she rescued, from the tribe of Judah—the lineage through which King David and Jesus Christ Himself were born.

The woman once shamed as a prostitute became an honored name in the lineage of Jesus Christ.

God will do the same for you. He is a God who makes us forget shameful situations, people, and seasons. Jesus Christ—the ultimate remover of shame—will wipe away the painful history from your heart and your life. When you believe that Jesus died for your sins and your shame, He releases you from the bondage of shame.

You will be remembered as an honorable vessel of the Lord and as a child of the Most High God. He will cause you to forget the shame of your youth and rejoice in His steadfast love. He will restore your honor, and you will finish your race with gratitude.

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, thank You for being the God who removes shame and restores honor. Help us to receive Your grace and walk in the freedom Jesus purchased for us. Heal our hearts, renew our minds, and clothe us with Your love and dignity. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Surely , You Will Be Blessed and Multiply

“For when God made a promise to Abraham, since He had no one greater by whom to swear, He swore by Himself, saying, ‘Surely I will bless you and multiply you.’”

Hebrews 6:13–14 ESV

These days, making a promise is easy, and breaking a promise is even easier. Promises have become mere words—often spoken to please someone or to escape a moment. Integrity has become rare, and so has finding someone who truly keeps their word.

Even when we find a person who tries to honor promises, their word is often backed by something greater or more valuable to them. They swear by something important, something they fear losing. This kind of oath is meant to help the other person trust and believe that the promise will not be broken.

This passage reveals a powerful truth: God never changes His mind after He has made a promise. When God promised Abraham that he would be blessed and multiplied, He swore by Himself, because He could find no one greater than Himself.

This is the ultimate truth—there is no one greater than Jehovah. There never has been, and there never will be. He is omnipotent and almighty. Therefore, when He promises, it stands. When He speaks, it remains. God does not manipulate His promises based on our situations. His Word stands firm, and situations change according to His promises. Scripture tells us that it is impossible for God to lie, for He is not a man that He should lie.

If there is anyone we can fully trust, it is Jesus Christ—the image of the Almighty God.

When God blessed Abraham, he did not even have one child until his old age. Yet the promise declared that he would be blessed and multiplied. According to God’s Word, that promise was fulfilled—not only through descendants, but also through wealth and prosperity.

This oath, this promise of God, extends to all of Abraham’s descendants—and we are partakers of that blessing.

“And if you are Christ’s, then you are Abraham’s offspring, heirs according to promise.”

Galatians 3:29 ESV

We enter into the covenant God made with Abraham through His Son, Jesus Christ.

We do not have to be born into a certain lineage, household, religion, or clan. All become heirs of Abraham when we believe that Jesus died and rose again for us.

Therefore, you will be blessed. You will increase. You will multiply—because the Sovereign Lord has spoken.

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, thank You that Your promises never fail. Help us to trust Your Word above every situation we face. Strengthen our faith as we wait, and let Your promises be fulfilled in our lives for Your glory. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Nothing Will Overwhelm You

“But now, thus says the Lord,He who created you, O Jacob,He who formed you, O Israel:‘Fear not, for I have redeemed you;I have called you by name, you are Mine.’”Isaiah 43:1 ESV

This passage is a powerful message of hope and a future for all who are bound and held captive. These words were spoken by the prophet Isaiah to the people of God who were living in exile. Because of their sins, God was angered, and they were handed over to a nation more powerful than them as a form of discipline.

Yet, they were not abandoned to perish forever. God sent them a message filled with His love and His promise of redemption. He reminded them that His covenant still stood and that His heart was still toward them.

That same message of love stands firm today. God loves us deeply and calls us His own. He knows each and every one of us by name, and He calls us personally. His love for us is so profound that nothing—absolutely nothing—can separate us from Him.

God loved us even when we were still sinners. Out of His infinite mercy, He prepared a redemption plan long before we realized our need for it. He sent His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, to redeem us and reconcile us back to Himself, so that we could belong to Him forever.

Because He loves us and because we are His, everything we go through belongs to Him as well. Later in this passage, God promises to be with us through waters, rivers, and fire. His assurance is clear: nothing will overwhelm you, and nothing will consume you. Therefore, fear not.

His love for us is unmatched and unconditional. This word brings encouragement for this year—that in all you will face in your family, in your health, in your finances, and in your walk with God, He promises to be with you. He will never leave you nor forsake you.

He created you. He formed you. He knows your story, and He knows how it will end. The Bible assures us that everything will work together for good for those who love God. Jesus Christ is God’s ultimate expression of love, and He is deeply intentional and serious about you.

Trust in His love and rest in His love. Nothing will overwhelm you.

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, thank You for loving us with an everlasting love. Thank You for calling us by name and claiming us as Your own. We surrender our lives into Your hands and place our confidence in Your unfailing love. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

God Intended It For Good

“As for you, you meant evil against me, but God meant it for good.”

Genesis 50:20 ESV

Western countries have a long history of outsourcing—often dumping their plastic and paper waste onto developing nations, overwhelming their recycling systems. Around 2018, several developing and poorer countries shut their doors to this practice. National leaders enforced stricter rules to protect the environment and public health, recognizing the dangerous consequences of burning plastic and handling toxic waste. As a result, shipping containers were left stranded in the middle of the ocean.

Yet the dumping did not stop. Some nations rejected the trash, while others—driven by economic pressure—accepted it at the cost of their land, health, and future.

As we come to the last days of 2025, along with good memories, many of us also carry unpleasant emotions. We cherish joyful moments easily, but painful memories—sin, shame, guilt, hurt, betrayal, and loss—often knock us down and make it hard to move forward.

I see these as toxic dumps the enemy tries to unload into our minds. As long as we accept the trash, the dumpster will keep coming—repeated emotional roller coasters with no concern for how we cope. The one who dumps does not care; as long as there is empty space, the trash keeps coming.

As we step into a new year, whatever resolutions you have made, let this be your top priority: stop receiving the trash. Negativity, jealousy, unforgiveness, anger, and bitterness do not only corrupt us individually; they poison families, neighborhoods, workplaces, and even the Church that Christ dearly loves.

Whether we like it or not, we are all called to run our race with endurance. With the little strength we receive from above, let us fix our eyes on Jesus—the author and finisher of our faith—and keep moving forward.

Above all, our bodies are the living temple where His presence dwells. Let us intentionally position ourselves to be filled with the forgiveness of God, the love of God, and the grace of God.

Say no to the trash. Let the helmet of salvation guard your mind, step out of the driver’s seat, and allow the Holy Spirit to lead you on the beautiful road called life—for the glory of His name.

2026 carries the fragrance of a fresh breath of life, and there is surely more in store for you. Remember this promise: what was meant to harm you in the past, God has intended for good.

Prayer:

Lord Jesus, we surrender every burden, every toxic thought, and every painful memory into Your hands. Cleanse our minds, guard our hearts, and fill us with Your peace. Lead us into this new season with faith, hope, and freedom, that our lives may glorify Your name. Amen.

Hand It Over To The One Who Cares

“casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you.” 1 Peter 5:7 ESV

my college days, we went on a tour to a hill station. We were a group of girls, laughing, taking pictures, climbing rocks, and wandering through bushes and tea plantations. In the middle of all that excitement, one of my classmates suddenly felt dizzy and uncomfortable. We gave her water and asked her to rest, but she was not getting better. Then we noticed she was bleeding from her leg. Upon closer look, we realized a leech had attached itself behind her calf muscle.

What surprised us was that she felt no pain and no discomfort, yet she was bleeding continuously. Removing it was not easy. One of the locals helped us and used a specific technique to pull it out. It left a wound, and she had to be treated immediately to prevent infection.

As I reflect on that incident, I realize anxiety enters our lives in a similar way. It often attaches itself through a trauma, an incident, or a deep hurt. If it is not addressed, it slowly weakens us. Anxiety does not announce itself before it strikes; it silently embeds itself, numbing us, draining our strength, and preventing us from moving forward.

Pharmaceutical companies continue to research and develop medications for anxiety. While these may subside the symptoms, they do not offer a permanent cure. Such medications alter brain chemistry to make us feel better temporarily, but the root cause often remains untouched. What anxiety truly needs is a divine touch—a healing hand.

The only lasting cure I know is found in the Word of God, which encourages us to “cast all your anxiety on Him, because He cares for you.” Anxiety is so real that the Bible addresses it specifically. To some, anxiety may seem like just a word, but to those who live with it, it feels like a mountain standing before them, making life feel overwhelming and unbearable. Anxiety exaggerates, fuels overthinking, creates the worst possible scenarios, and whispers the lie that life is not worth living.

This is the greatest lie of all. You are precious in the sight of God. The Word of God assures you that you will prosper in good health, even as your soul prospers. Prosperity is not about living in a magnificent house, having unimaginable wealth, or being surrounded by many people. True prosperity is rest—the peace within you, regardless of what you have or do not have.

The Bible encourages us to deliberately cast our anxiety on Jesus because He truly cares. Many may listen, but only a few genuinely care. Casting our burdens shows humility—it acknowledges that we cannot handle everything on our own and that we need Jesus. God knows every detail of your situation, and He cares deeply about you.

It is time to release the burden from your hands into the hands of the One who cares for you completely. Holding on to anxiety will not change your situation. Only when God steps in does transformation begin. Until then, anxiety only exhausts you with overthinking and fear, damages your mental health, and robs both you and your family of peace.

This is not how we are meant to live. Trust in God. Have faith in Jesus. Hand everything over to the One who holds the solution to every problem. Cast that leech of anxiety onto God.

It is truly possible to live a peaceful life when you give it all to Jesus.

Prayer:

Lord Jesus, we bring every anxious thought, every hidden fear, and every heavy burden to You. Teach us to release what we cannot control and to trust in Your loving care. Heal our hearts, calm our minds, and fill us with Your peace that surpasses all understanding. We place everything into Your hands, knowing You care deeply for us. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
