“Since then we have a great high priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus, the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession. For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who in every respect has been tempted as we are, yet without sin. Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.”

Hebrews 4:14–16 (ESV)

To reach a leader of a nation, there is a process that must be followed. There are layers of security, approvals, and instructions. Even if you are a well-known person or a leader of another nation, these requirements and hierarchies must be honored.

A nation has the authority to deny entry to its leader. Not everyone can approach certain places unless permission is granted.

In the same way, the Israelites were given specific instructions to come before the presence of God. The tabernacle was divided into the outer court, the inner court, and the Holy of Holies. The outer court was accessible to many, but the inner court was reserved for appointed priests who served at designated times. Beyond that was the Holy of Holies, where the Ark of the Covenant was kept. This sacred place could be entered only by the high priest—and that too only once a year—to offer sacrifices for the sins of the people and for himself.

Many Israelites lived their entire lives without ever entering or even seeing the Holy of Holies.

This pattern of restricted approach is not just historical—it can still be seen in different forms even today, where entry into certain sacred spaces is limited to a few.

But thank God for Jesus Christ. The Bible reveals Jesus as our great High Priest—the One who fulfilled every requirement. Through His death and resurrection, He did not merely follow the process; He completed it and opened the way for us to come freely into the presence of the Father.

In Christ, we are hidden, and the Father sees us through His Son. The righteousness of Jesus Christ has become our righteousness. We are adopted into sonship through His blood and now share in the privilege that belongs to Him.

Because of this, no one and nothing—no power, no principality, no sin, no curse, no force of darkness—can deny you entry into the presence where Jesus leads you. No one is disqualified. No one is an outcast. No one is too far to come near to the Father.

All are invited to draw near, to share in His presence, if they believe in Him and receive Him as Savior.

You may experience rejection from society or even from those close to you. You may be denied certain privileges in this world. But those things are temporary and fading. Be encouraged—you have been given access to the eternal treasures of the Kingdom of God.

So walk in confidence with Christ into the throne room of the Father. Do not stand at a distance when you have been invited to come near.

Jesus has done it all for you. Through His finished work on the cross, the way has been fully and forever opened.

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, thank You for giving us access through Jesus, our great High Priest. Thank You that we can come boldly before Your throne of grace, not because of our own righteousness, but because of the finished work of the cross. Help us to draw near with confidence and not remain distant when You have invited us close. Remove every fear, doubt, and sense of unworthiness, and remind us that we are welcomed in Your presence. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
